Thunder are delighted to announce a second 2 way signing in partnership with Guildford Phoenix – with 18 year old #13 Jared Vigar ready to seek experience at the next level.

The promising young forward joins previously announced Theo Sire in making the trip north to test his skills at NIHL1 level, and like Theo has learnt his trade through Guildfords junior system. Jared had a breakout season in NIHL2 South with the Phoenix last year, recording 34 points in 19 games, as well as captaining Guildford Firekings in the U18 league, where he also added 36 points in just 16 games. Jared has represented South West Conference teams at U11 to U15 level as well as Team Longstaff at the U18 showcase. Jared also participated in the renowned Quebec International PeeWee tournament with Guildford in 2019.

Jared is a very talented young forward, he’s got a great shot and skates well. Thanks again to Milos and everyone involved with Guildford for assisting us in bringing Jared to Thunder, and we look forward to having him with us when availability allows. Its important to expose these young guys to the higher levels early, especially when they – like Jared has – have proven themselves more than capable of competing and even standing out in any senior league.

We’ll be looking to push Jared forwards and seeing where his game can take him. From speaking to him I can already tell he has a great attitude and approach to the game, and I’m excited to have the chance to work with him next season.

Thunder return in just a few weeks time, and you will be able to see Jared and the rest of our new look roster take to the ice for the start of what promises to be a great season for the club.
