MK Thunder

Blackwood Joins Thunder

16 year old forward Joshua Blackwood signs on prospect 2-way with Haringey.

Thunder are delighted to welcome forward, Joshua Blackwood to the club. The 16 year old joins us on a 2-way agreement with Haringey Hounds where he has played his junior career. Last season Joshua played for Haringey’s U16 and U18 teams where he registered 28 and 13 regular points respectively. This will be his first experience at senior level, and he will look to continue his impressive development during his time in Milton Keynes. Joshua also represented England U15 in the 2023/24 season, as well as taking part in EIH Showcase on three occasions.

Joshua gave the following comment on his decision to sign for Thunder:

“I’m very grateful and happy that MK Thunder have given me this opportunity to sign and play with them this season and will use this to become a much better player. I am excited for this senior experience.”

Thunder Head Coach Will Fry discussed bringing Joshua to the club:

“Joshua is someone who was known to us through previous connections with our coaching staff. We invited him to skate with us over the summer and he impressed us with his attitude and application. Despite his age he is already proving to be a powerful and explosive player and we look forward to seeing him develop alongside our other prospects over the course of the season to come.”

Welcome to Thunder Joshua – we’re very glad to have you as part of our family.

As a prospect Joshua will not have his own jersey number this season, and will wear a blood jersey should he represent us in any games. Therefore there are no Own & Loan option available, however there are personal player sponsorship opportunities and anybody interested should contact mkthundericehockey@gmail.com
