Fry Takes Charge for 24/25

After 3 successful seasons with Nottingham Mavericks in the BUIHA, Thunder have signed Will Fry as the new head coach for the 24/25 season.

Please give a huge welcome to Thunder’s new Head Coach, Will Fry!

We asked Will for his thoughts on his upcoming role:

“I’m really proud of what we’ve managed to build and achieve in Nottingham with the University program, and it was going to take something very special to pull me away – but after meeting with Lauren and the rest of the Thunder, staff, and players, this opportunity just felt right. Thunder has a solid foundation of great management, volunteers, and fans, and it’s a privilege to have been chosen to lead their on-ice responsibilities.

This season has obviously been challenging at times for the club, and I must give full credit to the players and coaching staff who have stuck through it and given their all week in and week out.

Now, we have the opportunity to take control of our identity and culture moving forward. The league is incredibly strong, but I see no reason why we cannot put together a competitive roster for next season and turn some heads as we build for the future.

My approach in Milton Keynes will be similar to how I have operated in my previous roles, focused on the development of talent, providing our athletes with an environment in which they can thrive, and putting our people and processes at the centre of what we do.
Milton Keynes has a vibrant and enthusiastic hockey community, it’s an honour for me to become a key part of that and I’m looking forward to getting started soon. “
