After joining Thunder part way through last season following a transfer from Nottingham Lions 2 (NIHLN2) #27 Nathan Mead is back in Teal for his first full season with the club. The 20 year old forward is a product of the Sutton Sting junior system, and got his first taste of senior hockey in Nottingham with the Lions, as well as representing the Nottingham Mavericks in the British University set up. Recording 3 points in 17 games last year, Nathan will be hoping to continue his partnership with new Head Coach Will Fry that saw him record 14 points in 15 games in the University league.

Nathan is looking forward to returning to Milton Keynes:

I’m very excited to come back to Thunder for another year. I really enjoyed my time here last season and can’t wait to get going again. It’s a great group with lots of potential to have a successful season.

New Thunder Head Coach will be looking to get the best from Nathan:

I’m delighted to continue working with Nathan. He was a key part of the group we had the privilege to coach in Nottingham. Nathan deserves more recognition that I personally think he’s had in the past, he has a lot of potential to develop into a top points scorer at this level and has all the technical foundations needed to excel at this level. We’ll be looking to pick up where we left off last season and keep pushing his development forward. If we can consistently unlock the confident and dynamic player that I’ve seen on occasion over the past couple of seasons then Nathan will be huge part of our offensive production next season.
