James, or ‘Coxy’ as he’s affectionately known in the room, arrived in the UK in 2021 to continue his studies in Nottingham – where he has played the past 3 seasons as a key member of the Nottingham Universities team playing in the BUIHA. Having served as team captain for the past two years he helped lead the team to its first National Championship in 16 years in 2023.

James joined Thunder just after the start of the 23/24 season and throughout his time at the club has demonstrated his skill, leadership and personality, tallying up 4 points in 19 appearances in his first taste of NIHL hockey.
